Do the iraqis thank us for fighting for their freedom or do they not want us in their country?

sorry if this question is weird i don't fully understand what's going on, but from what i know, the US thought that Iraq had weapons of m destruction etc, and were defending the country against terrorism when they executed Saddam Hussein. Did the Iraqi people actually want us there?
