Dog bathing...how often is too much?

I have a 18 month old puggie named Pebbles. My hubby has been shampooing her twice a week due to her "puggy" odor. Yes, I clean her wrinkles and ears regularly but she still gets stinky. Do you all think bathing 2x a week is bad for her skin or ok? We use a gentle dog shampoo and then we let her dry naturally indoors. Any other suggestions for eliminating doggy odor? Thanks!
