If you think about adding an adapter it will only bring your power plug out further, you need to change that outlet to whats commonly called a clock outlet (the outlet is recessed about an inch) as far as your CATV hook up goes take the plate off remove the barrel connector from the plate and make the hole big enough for the Male end to slide through, pull the cable wire out of the box slide the plate over the wire Mount the plate back to the box, connect the barrel connector and the other cable wire and slide it in the box
